Grizzlies Success!

Some may say the greatest accomplishments in baseball is your record. The number of wins or our Championships. We do not agree. As proud as the Grizzlies are with our 2010 Championship and the following players that made it to the "Bigs", our greatest accomplishments is the lives we have touched and changed both in Cheyenne and the players representing Cheyenne.

Take note:

Three Grizzlies have moved back to Cheyenne after playing ball with our summer team and started lives in Cheyenne.

One player started a family in Cheyenne and celebrated the birth of a beautiful daughter in 2010. That's right a person was brought into this world because of the Grizzlies!!!..... WOW

One player called the fire dept. when a neighbors house was on fire and help save that home.

Many, many players influenced youth in Cheyenne to pursue their baseball opportunities and good grades through school.

and Finally Grizzlies that have made it to the Big Show!!!!!!

It is fun to follow our players as they move on to the next stage of their lives. All our successful after their college playing time is over. Some become successful business people, others find their way to help their communities and a few get an opportunity to continue their baseball dreams.

John Semel

2008 John Semel New York Mets St. Lucie (A) Chapman University

John Semel played for the Grizzlies on our 2008 team. John was drafted by the New York Mets A Team in 2009.

James Kang

2008 James Kang Boston Red Sox Pawtucket (AAA) Pomona-Pitzer University

James Kang played for the Grizzlies on our 2008 team. James was drafted by the Boston Red Sox AAA Yeam in 2009.

Charles Williams Jr.

Charles played for the Grizzlies in seasons 2007 and 2008. He was later drafted by the Florence Freedom in the Frontier League.

Craig Perry

Craig played for the Cheyenne Grizzlies in our 2nd 2006 Season.

Craig was drafted in the 50th and final round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft (1,479th overall) by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

As of May 2009 he is in extended spring training with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Daniel Guttridge

Daniel played for the Grizzlies in 2006 and was one of our top players of all time. Attached is some information on Daniel as a player in the Frontier League for the Florence Freedom Professional Baseball organization.

Dan Guttridge #32 Signed by the Freedom on May 29, 2007...Made his professional debut as starting right fielder May 29 at Slippery Rock...went 1-for-3 with RBI single in 3-2 loss to the Sliders...went 1-for-5 with 2 RBIs in his second game, May 30 - a 10-6 win at Slippery Rock...Named 2007 Mid-South Conference Player of the Year at U. of the Cumberlands, an NAIA school in Williamsburg, KY... Travis Motimore

Travis Mortimore is an outstanding Wyoming Athlete.

Played for the Cheyenne Grizzlies in our Inaugural 2005 Season. Also Played for the Laramie Colts in 2006. He was an Outstanding LHP that threw very hard.

In 2009 Travis was playing for the High Desert Mavericks (Settle Mariners Affiliation) in the California League. Good luck Travis in all you do!
